I grew up training as a competitive figure skater. In those years of eight-hour day practices analyzing every aspect of my movements in the context of the whole impression is where my strategic thinking was developed. Success in ice skating requires mental and physical rigor and also demands artfully and emotionally connecting with an audience. To win, I learned to use my head and heart, in unison, while pushing myself to achieve results.
At the intersection of exploration, data-driven analysis, creativity, and action are where I thrive.
Since I spent my childhood upon cold frozen water, I later chose warmth near the ocean at the University of Miami. Studying psychobiology gave me the opportunity to pursue my interest in science within the context of my crazy curiosity for the interaction between the physical, mental and emotional aspects of human behavior.
My career has been dedicated to transforming and challenging the status quo to develop brands, evolve organizations, and activate ideas. I got my feet wet in business by starting my own company that brought sports programming throughout North America, Europe, Asia and to the Middle East. Working with CEOs of celebrated brands, and leading initiatives where industry competitors had to cooperate across policymaking, research and consumer marketing equipped my point of view on how great brands radiate from the center of a business and trained me to find common ground and alignment around a shared vision.
My work includes the rebrand of the 100-year-old Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association and evolving the iconic Rollerblade brand. The Disney World Inline Marathon and the Sports + Technology Convergence are two firsts-of-its-kind events that were visions brought to life. On a full circle back to the ice, I’m on the development team of the Kingsbridge National Ice Center in New York City. We’re redefining the ice sports business model and creating opportunities for the community while repurposing a historic armory into the world’s largest ice destination.
While my career was rooted in sports and fitness, today I facilitate strategy and brand development with teams across business categories that aim to have a meaningful impact on their consumers.
Collaborating with teams of diverse thinkers to map ways toward a vision and build their capacity energizes me. It’s rewarding to see the bond that comes from a deeper understanding of one another and achieving results together.
Always driven to give back, I advocate for all kids to have access to sports. I developed Inline-2-Ice with NHL Legend Mark Messier, introducing four ice sports to kids in the Bronx and serve on the board of Trips for Kids National which provides bike experiences as a vehicle to build confidence and communities.
I’ve lived or worked in a broad range of 21 cities and have an insatiable appetite to learn, grow and connect with others. Today, I live in Boulder, CO, where my husband and I enjoy playing in the mountains and tracking the adventures of our two grown daughters.
